Hi everyone! My team just finished our second week at our new ministry and I can’t wait to tell you about the company we work with.

For our final month, my team of 6 girls started working with a nonprofit organization named Timion. Their goal is to manufacture and distribute disability equipment for children with Cerebral Palsy who live in underprivileged households. Cerebral Palsy is a condition typically caused by brain damage before birth that affects a person’s ability to move and maintain balance and posture. Not only does Timion build the pieces out of wood, but they provide the equipment free of charge. Some of these specialized instruments include standing frames, walkers, benches, and wheelchairs. They deliver directly to the homes while providing therapeutic and emotional support to the families in the communities. The organization also opened a daycare center for children with CP in 2019 which allows the moms and caretakers to receive a break throughout their busy week. In 2018, after working out of multiple garage bays, the company bought a larger piece of land to build a new workshop that would be big enough for their operation. My team arrived at the perfect time, as the crew was working extra hard to complete the development before their opening day on April 14th. We spend our days helping clean/move equipment into their new storage rooms, moving bricks/cleaning up trash outside, assisting in running errands or feeding the donkeys. It has been a true joy getting to know the staff and some of the other volunteers from Switzerland. This Friday was the opening day for the new facility. Over a hundred people came to witness the new building, including a few children from the daycare. My team was full of excitement to be a part of such a monumental moment for the organization. When the event began, while tours and greetings were taking place, I was stationed at the photo booth that we decorated the day before. Once the ceremony was finished, the guests were provided a tasty lunch and time of fellowship.

I couldn’t be more grateful for God providing me with the opportunity to experience Timion. Their mission is incredibly beautiful and I feel proud to be a part of the process. The environment is overflowing with the love of Jesus. We start every day with a time of worship and prayer for each other, Timion, and the nations. I can’t wait to see what God has in store for this organization. Thanks for stopping by for a quick update! Only a week left in Africa, then it’s off to the States!

Until next time!
